In the new"dual circulation"development pattern,enterprises,as the main body of market economic activities,need to turn to"Outside Brain"to make clear their strategic choices to explore new ways for high-quality development.In this context,RDI enterprise platform is facing new development opportunities,and at the same time,it also needs new mechanisms and models of innovative development to empower the enterprises and promote the high-quality development of China's economy.
We have organized relevant experts from different fields and industries to have a comprehensive understanding of the development status and challenges of industries and enterprises.High-level industry research reports have been developed with expert suggestions conducive to promoting the development of industries and enterprises.These suggestions are put forward based on the current needs of enterprises and industry barriers after demonstrating the rationality,feasibility and legal compliance of technologies in the industry.

On June 6 th ,2020,the"Seminar on New Technology and Belt and Road Initiative-Supercomputing Industry Development"was held in Shanghai.This event was sponsored by BRI International Think Tank of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS)jointly with Research and Development International(RDI).The experts and scholars in related industries invited include Qizheng ZHAO,Member of the 16 th Communist Party of China Central Committee and former Director of the State Council Information Office;Qifan HUANG,former Mayor of Chongqing and Co-Chair of Advisory Committee of RDI;Baige ZHAO,Vice Chair of the 12 th NPC Foreign Affairs Committee,Chair of Advisory Committee of BRI International Think Tank of CASS and Chair of Advisory Committee of RDI;Mingwei ZHOU,former Director of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and Member of Advisory Committee of RDI;Yang JIAO,Secretary of the CPC Fudan University Committee;Ying ZHANG,Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization and so on.The seminar is designed to evaluate,deliberate and exchange ideas about the scientific research achievements in supercomputing,5G technology,high-end chip design and AI technology as well as related enterprises engaged in these technologies,and explore the possibility of introducing these new technologies to smart cities and the Belt and Road countries.The seminar report has been completed and submitted to the decision-making department of the government for reference.
On July 15 th ,2020,the Central Economic Committee of China Democratic League,BRI International Think Tank of CASS,and RDI jointly developed a research report titled Problems to be Faced in the Development of 5 G Technology .The report plans the overall thinking for 5G development in China and puts forward targeted strategic measures.On the basis of analyzing the advantages of China in such fields as communication standards,communication equipment R&D and production,5G network deployment capability,and 5G mobile phones,as well as the gap in"bottleneck"technologies for equipment manufacturing and tools,software and materials related to chip manufacturing,the report provides the strategic thinking of"overcoming bottlenecks and making deployment for the future"and the strategic measures that include"protecting the development of Chinese enterprises by policies and building a national team for the development of 5G technology".The report has made an in-depth study on the strategic problems for China in coping with the development of 5G technology,and formed research results that may serve as a reference for practices.It has received comments from and is highly valued by the leaders of the Central Government.
We will continue to provide consultation and suggestions for decision-making of the government,focus on the problems facing enterprises and industries,pay attention to the applicability and effectiveness of existing industry policies in dealing with the problems,utter the voice of the think tank for enterprises and industries,and develop think-tank schemes with complete system and prominent emphases,so as to strive for more favorable policies for enterprises and industries,and thus greater survival and development space for enterprises.
