The RDI enterprise platform has been dedicated to addressing the developmental demands of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)since 2015.It consistently kept a pulse on the economic globalization driven by enterprises and the high-tech achievement transformation catalyzed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution,and remains steadfast on fostering synergy between domestic and international enterprises and projects,so as to promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
We are well aware that given today's intricate international competition,the foundational capacity of industries is a decisive factor for national security,industrial security,competitiveness and comprehensive national power.International experience has shown that champions and hidden champions,which have mastered core technologies related to key components(elements),key basic materials and industrial software,form the bedrock of establishing an industrial powerhouse.Moreover,as the digital economy surges ahead,the stride toward digital industrialization and industrial digitalization has quickened.Data has become a foundational element steering the development of basic capabilities and industrial growth.In light of this,the RDI enterprise platform doesn't solely focus on sectors linked to people's livelihoods within the BRI—like education,healthcare,new energy,and environmental sustainability—but also places special emphasis on high-tech enterprises aligned with the Fourth Industrial Revolution,especially on the evolution of communication and information technology.
During 2020,we organized two novel technology review sessions and three seminars to carry out a holistic assessment of hidden champions operating in the fields of advanced chip research and development,supercomputing,5G,AI,and new materials.Through these initiatives,we effectively welcomed 15 top-tier enterprises into the RDI enterprise platform,actively catalyzing the coordinated growth of both the upstream and downstream sectors of the industrial chain.As of December 31 st ,2020,the RDI enterprise platform hosted a collective of 412 enterprises,among which,40%were state-owned enterprises while 60% were private enterprises.Bolstered by the innovation from private sectors and supported by state-owned enterprises,the RDI enterprise platform continues to flourish and expand.
