/imagine指令是Midjourney中最核心且使用最频繁的指令，用于触发AI生成图像的功能。用户可以通过/imagine指令输入一段文本描述，AI将根据这段描述逐步生成清晰的图像。
/blend指令是一种高级图像生成功能，允许用户上传2～5张图片，并将其混合成一张新的、独特的图像，因此也叫融图指令。融图的过程不仅仅是简单的叠加，而是通过AI算法分析各个图片的内容、颜色、纹理等特征，创造出既保留原始图片元素又能展现出新颖视觉效果的合成图像。如下图所示，上传小猫和机器人图像，最后会融合得到机器猫效果的新图像。
/describe指令允许用户上传一张图像，AI系统会基于这张图像生成四条文本描述（prompts）。通过观察AI如何理解和描述不同的图像，用户可以学习如何更有效且合理地进行文本描述，从而生成更满意的图像效果。如下图所示，将一张参考图像通过/describe上传到Midjourney中，系统会基于参考图生成四条长短不一的文本描述。
从生成的文本描述中选择比较符合参考图特点的一条描述，这里选择第三条描述：A surrealistic illustration of an orange cloud shaped like a tree, with a man standing under it and holding onto two strings attached to his hat. The background is a clear blue sky, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Inspired in the style of surrealist art with dreamlike elements and vibrant colors --ar 49∶64（一幅超现实主义插画，描绘了一朵形状像树的橙色云，一名男子站在云下，手握着帽子上的两根绳子。背景是湛蓝的天空，营造出梦幻般的氛围。灵感来自超现实主义艺术风格，带有梦幻般的元素和鲜艳的色彩，图像比例——49∶64）。
单击该描述对应的数字3按钮或者使用/imagine指令输入这段描述，都能进行出图操作。从下图中能看到，生成的新图像在色彩、构图、风格等方面都和原图很相似。
/shorten指令用来帮助用户优化他们的图像描述（prompts），使之更加精炼和高效。优化过程中会去除一些无关紧要的冗余词汇，最终得到一个包含关键信息的更加精简和有效的文字描述。这个命令特别适用于那些希望减少描述词的数量，同时保持关键信息和创意效果的出图场景。
例如，想生成一个以“太空”为主题的图像，整理得到的描述为：
一个机器人宇航员在太空中漂浮，头盔映照着银河系的繁星。宇航服上有很多的装饰。宇宙飞船滑行而过，发动机在发光。整个银河系在机器人面前展开，这是非常美丽的景色，鲜艳的色彩，丰富的细节，超现实主义（A robot astronaut floats in space, helmet reflecting the stars of the Milky Way galaxy. There are many decorations on the spacesuit. The spaceship glided past, its engine flashing. The entire Milky Way galaxy unfolds in front of robots, creating a beautiful scenery with vibrant colors, rich details, and surrealism）。
将这段中文描述翻译为英文描述复制到Midjourney中，先使用/imagine指令进行出图，生成的图像如下图右侧所示，生成的效果与描述词相符合。再使用/shorten指令将长的描述词进行简化，简化后描述词中的一些关键描述被加粗，不重要的描述被删除，最后得到五条精简的文本描述：
1. robot astronaut floats in space, helmet reflecting the stars of the Milky Way, many decorations on the spacesuit The spaceship, past, its, beautiful, surrealism.
2. robot astronaut floats, helmet reflecting the stars of the Milky Way, many decorations on the spacesuit,past, its, surrealism.

分别单击每条简化描述词对应的按钮，即可进行出图操作。这里以简化后的前三条描述词为例：
1. robot astronaut floats in space, helmet reflecting the stars of the Milky Way, many decorations on the spacesuit The spaceship, past, its, beautiful, surrealism（机器人宇航员漂浮在太空中，头盔反射银河系的星星，宇航服上的许多装饰，宇宙飞船，过去，美丽，超现实主义）。

分别单击数字1、数字2、数字3按钮，三条简化描述词生成的图像效果如下图所示。
通过前后生成的图像能发现，无论是使用原始描述词还是使用简化后的描述词，最终生成的图像效果是相似的。因此原始描述中的很多内容对于出图来说是非必要的，在文本描述过程中我们需要重点关注相对重要的内容，对于一些次要的内容可以选择性地简化或删减，以此得到更加精简、准确的描述词。
