流程图中最常用的篇章结构是按照步骤进行分段，当步骤比较多时可以将其中的一些阶段进行合并，而在overview中则需要说明这个流程的用途以及被分成了几个步骤。因此可以在首段说明文章主题和流程包含的步骤，在之后的段落里再将各个步骤进行归类描述。
第一段：说明该流程的目的是生产橡胶用来制作两种产品，而整个流程中包含数个阶段。
第二段：对前两个生产阶段进行描述，这部分主要描述如何获得乳胶树液并将其运送到生产车间。
第三段：对第三到第五个生产阶段进行描述，这部分主要描述如何对乳胶进行处理，将一些纯乳胶用来制作胶靴，并将其他一些研磨成颗粒运送到制管厂。
