Since being“c olloquial ”“ frequent ”and“ pervasive ”（Talmy，2000b：27）are the conditions of characteristic data suggested by Talmy，this study obtains everyday spoken data through elicitation experiments conducted to the English and Chinese native speakers．So the methodology is mainly empirical．
