1　Trust goes both ways not just from child to parent, but also from parent to child.

信任是双向的，不仅是孩子对父母要信任，父母对孩子也要信任。

2　Listen to me sometimes, maybe I am right. If I don't want to wear a coat, maybe I am just not cold; if I don't want to eat,maybe I'm just not hungry.

有时候听我说，也许我是对的。如果我不想穿外套，也许我只是不冷；如果我不想吃饭，也许我只是不饿。

3　Some teens do not want to follow in your shadow. Let them be their own people. Let your kids get out often to get more life experiences.

有些青少年并不想活在你的阴影中。让他们做自己，让他们经常走出去，获得更多的生活体验。

4　Cell phones are important for a kid's social life! Locks are important too!

手机对孩子的社交生活很重要。锁也很重要。

5　Let us fail so we can learn on our own. Let us do more stuff.

6　Understanding the school work is more important than the grade you get from it.

理解学校作业比成绩更重要（过程重于结果）。

7　When you are stressed from work, don't get mad at me about it; it's not my fault. Talk about it instead.

8　Parents should understand that our life and childhood isn't going to be a replica of theirs because life is a new generation and things aren't like they used to be anymore.

9　Listen. Don't Explain. Just listen!

听我说，不要跟我解释。只要倾听就够了。

10　Even if you find my dreams unreasonable or impossible, you should still be able to support my dream.
