问： 名词有哪些需要特别注意的地方？
答： 名词的学习主要有以下两点需要我们注意。
第一，英汉差异。 英语中名词的单复数不一定与汉语一致。 比如说， advice（建议）在英文中是不可数名词，suggestion（建议）在英文中是可数名词。同样都是“建议”，怎么就一个可数，一个不可数呢？而且在汉语中没有可数或不可数的说法。所以很多时候我们需要注意使用习惯的问题。
第二， 英语中的不可数名词也能在某些情况下转化成可数名词 。也就是说，英语中的同一个名词在不同含义下，既可能是可数的，也可能是不可数的。比如说：chicken鸡（可数）；鸡肉（不可数）；又比如：room 房间（可数）；空间（不可数）。
因此，判断名词的可数与不可数是一个点滴积累的过程。要知道，英语中的名词有很多个，这当中有多少是可数的，多少是不可数的，又有多少既是可数又是不可数的，要想一次全记住不大现实，这也是本书为什么不一一列举的原因。只有多查字典，多积累才能逐渐掌握。
问： 近年中考名词的考点趋势是什么？
答： 在最近几年的中考中，考查最多的是 名词词义辨析 ，而这类考点考查的是学生的词汇量，即认不认识该名词。如果认识，根据句意就可以顺利做对该题，否则，做对这类题目的概率就小了，所以词汇基础非常重要。当然，在本章节我们主要复习名词的基础知识，对于词汇的记忆，同学们就需要平常多下功夫了。同学们也可以参考《24天突破中考英语词汇1800》一书，该书讲解了很多有关记忆词汇的小技巧。
名词按表义来分可以分为专有名词和普通名词，普通名词又可分为下面四类：1）个体名词；2）集体名词；3）物质名词；4）抽象名词。
名词按数目来分则通常分为可数名词与不可数名词。个体名词和集体名词可以用数目来计算，称为可数名词，物质名词和抽象名词一般无法用数目计算，称为不可数名词。为了便于大家一目了然，我们用下图表示：

问： 不可数名词没有复数形式，那如何表达数量？
答： 不可数名词虽然没有复数形式，但可以 借助单位量词来表示一定的数量 ，最常用的单位量词有piece、bit、item等，比如a piece of advice一条建议；three pieces of advice三条建议。
又如paper作“纸”讲时是不可数名词，没有复数形式，要表示其数量一般用“数词+piece(s)+of”短语表示。
