Over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Tang in many countries, but the first time our path crossed was in Taiwan around 20 years ago. Since then, I have had the privilege of getting to know him as a friend.
I have also had the pleasure of reading many of Mr. Tang's traveling books and following his pictures thru his social accounts, and I truly appreciated watching them during the lockdowns as they allowed me to dream about traveling during these difficult times. I also have to admit that I am secretly jealous about Mr. Tang as in the last 20 years, he still looks the same and hasn't aged at all. I guess traveling and learning something new everyday are his fountain of youth.
It is my honor to write a preface for Mr. Tang's new book,“Traveling in Italy.”He is a very nice person, always smiling, full of energy, and always curious about what is happening in the world. What I admire most about Mr. Tang is his generous and kind nature. He enjoys his life to the fullest, and he shares his joy with everyone around him. Mr. Tang is always eager to make new friends, and his vast network of colleagues and friends from different fields is a testament to his warm and friendly nature.
One of Mr. Tang's passions is the craftmanship of high-end jewelry and watches. It is this love for the intricacies of design and beauty that led him to become interested with the legendary jeweler Buccellati.
Mr. Tang also collects stones, Chinese pictures, calligraphy, and limited edition pens. He is a lover of travel and has a passion for photographing magnificent landscapes but also has an amazing capacity to capture faces of people in a very genuine way. I believe it comes from the fact that they can see that he is a genuine person with a big heart and always a big smile on his face whatever happens. His kindness is contagious!
I had the pleasure of introducing Mr. Buccellati to Mr. Tang last time he visited Milan, and he can attest to Mr. Tang's passion and excitement when he visited the Buccellati Atelier in Milano. Mr. Tang's passion for beauty and design is evident in every aspect of his life, and he is always eager to share his thoughts, opinions, and professional insights with others.
In conclusion, I hope readers will be inspired by Mr. Tang's love for travel, his passion for craftmanship and design, and his generous spirit. Mr. Tang's book is a testament to his zest for life and his unwavering commitment to sharing his experiences with others. The poet Gabriele d'Annunzio, a great patron of Buccellati always used to say while giving gifts to his friends that“you have what you have given”, well, in this case one could say that Mr. Tang has a lot for all the sharing he has done about his amazing travels and the experiences he has accumulated.
I can't wait for the next book!
