4 最宽的胡同 灵境胡同

北京西单北大街路东，有一条北京城最宽的胡同，叫灵境胡同。胡同东起府右街，西至西单北大街，长664米，最宽处有 32米多。胡同的名称与明朝曾经修建的一座叫灵济宫的道观有关，当年的灵济宫名声相当大，流传着许多传说和故事。后来胡同东段叫皇城根，西段因曾有灵济宫，谐音为灵境胡同。如今的灵境胡同经过几次拓宽，已经变成灵境大街了。

The Widest Hutong LINGJING HUTONG

On the east side of Xidan North Street lies Beijing's widest hutong: Lingjing Hutong. It extends from Fuyou Street in the east to Xidan North Street in the west, being 664 meters long and more than 32 meters wide at the broadest section. The hutong gets its name from a Daoist temple once built during the Ming dynasty called the Lingji temple. In those days the temple had a considerable reputation and many legends and stories abounded concerning it. In later years, the eastern section of the hutong became known as Huangchenggen and the western section Lingjing Hutong, a homonym of the Lingj temple formerly located there. Nowadays, following several periods of expansion Lingjing Hutong has been transformed into Lingjing Street.
