图表式作文常见的类型有表格、曲线图、柱状图和饼状图,其中,后两者出现的频率较高。图表类书面表达题一向是中考书面表达中的难点,体裁以说明文和议论文为主。写图表作文时,要把握以下几点:
(1)分析这些信息或数据时,切忌不加详细分析,只是简单地罗列数字。要进行横向、纵向的比较,抓住总的规律和趋势。通过计算找出部分与整体、部分与部分之间的关系,如增减的绝对数字、百分比、分数以及倍数等。
(2)结论性的表述要根据图表信息分析或数据归纳而来,切忌主观判断,避免“I think / believe ...”等类似表达。
(3)时态方面,除特定的时间用过去时外,常用一般现在时。
图表作文的结构通常是三段式:
第一段总结归纳图表信息所反映的总的情况,点出主题思想。从常规语言运用上来讲,第一段一般需点出所要涉及的问题,宜开门见山点明图表所反映的主题,常用的句型有:As we can see from the table ...,As can be seen from the line / bar graph ...,As is shown / illustrated / indicated in the pie chart ...,It can be seen from the table that ...,It can be concluded from the graph that ...,Compared with ...等。
第二段回答第一段所点出的问题,对数字、数据等信息作出有条理的分析比较,归纳出增减速率并找出产生变化的原因,经常使用的词汇有:increase,raise,rise to,go up, jump,soar,climb up,grow up,decrease,grow down,drop,fall,decline,reduce,wave,while, on the contrary,compare ... to / with ...,in contrast to,as ... as ...,the same as,similar to,different from,difference between (among),more than, less than等;经常使用的句型有:Two thirds of the students spend too much time ...,Three quarters of the poor students come from ...,Here are the results of a survey carried out in ...,The number has doubled as against that of last year等。
第三段作出总结或给出简单的评论,经常使用的词汇或句型有:in a word,in short,generally speaking,It's clear from the chart that ...,We can draw the conclusion that ...,We can learn / know ...等。
