图表式作文常见的类型有表格、曲线图、柱状图和饼状图，其中，后两者出现的频率较高。图表类书面表达题一向是中考书面表达中的难点，体裁以说明文和议论文为主。写图表作文时，要把握以下几点：
（1）分析这些信息或数据时，切忌不加详细分析，只是简单地罗列数字。要进行横向、纵向的比较，抓住总的规律和趋势。通过计算找出部分与整体、部分与部分之间的关系，如增减的绝对数字、百分比、分数以及倍数等。
（2）结论性的表述要根据图表信息分析或数据归纳而来，切忌主观判断，避免“I think / believe ...”等类似表达。
（3）时态方面，除特定的时间用过去时外，常用一般现在时。
图表作文的结构通常是三段式：
第一段总结归纳图表信息所反映的总的情况，点出主题思想。从常规语言运用上来讲，第一段一般需点出所要涉及的问题，宜开门见山点明图表所反映的主题，常用的句型有：As we can see from the table ...，As can be seen from the line / bar graph ...，As is shown / illustrated / indicated in the pie chart ...，It can be seen from the table that ...，It can be concluded from the graph that ...，Compared with ...等。
第二段回答第一段所点出的问题，对数字、数据等信息作出有条理的分析比较，归纳出增减速率并找出产生变化的原因，经常使用的词汇有：increase，raise，rise to，go up， jump，soar，climb up，grow up，decrease，grow down，drop，fall，decline，reduce，wave，while， on the contrary，compare ... to / with ...，in contrast to，as ... as ...，the same as，similar to，different from，difference between （among），more than, less than等；经常使用的句型有：Two thirds of the students spend too much time ...，Three quarters of the poor students come from ...，Here are the results of a survey carried out in ...，The number has doubled as against that of last year等。
第三段作出总结或给出简单的评论，经常使用的词汇或句型有：in a word，in short，generally speaking，It's clear from the chart that ...，We can draw the conclusion that ...，We can learn / know ...等。
某中学对高一新生进行了英语口语能力问卷调查，以下是其中两个问题的调查数据。假如你是该校高一新生, 请结合下图数据和自身口语情况, 给你的英语老师写一篇短文。
参考信息：1. 描述问卷调查结果（频率、方法）；
2. 介绍自身口语情况（水平、打算……）；
3. ……
要求：1. 80~120词, 开头已给出, 不计入总词数；
2. 文中不能出现自己的姓名和所在学校的名称。
The results of the survey show that 17% of the students hardly ever practice speaking English. ____________________________________________________
图中列出了某中学进行的英语口语能力的调查问卷，包括两个问题：“你多久练习说一次英语”和“你如何练习说英语”。考生应仔细观察图表信息，将调查结果表达出来，并力求信息完整，逻辑清晰。另外，短文还需包含另一个内容，即介绍自身的口语情况，并对如何提升口语能力给出参考建议。短文应以一般现在时为主，人称主要用第一人称复数。
The results of the survey show that 17% of the students hardly ever practice speaking English. 45% of the students usually practice speaking English, 38% of the students practice speaking English sometimes. How do you practice speaking English? Most students speak more only in class. Some of the students talk with friends in English. Some students practice speaking English in other ways.
In my opinion, we should talk with our partners in English as much as we can. ① Also, we should often watch English videos so as to ② improve our understanding of English. ① as much as we can在此作状语，意为“尽我们所能”。
② so as to引导目的状语，比to do不定式更加高级、地道。
③ 否定祈使句的运用，表达掷地有声，非常明确，是一个得分亮点。
④ 短语over and above （除……之外）代替了常见的besides、what's more等，令人耳目一新，同时也体现了作者丰富的词汇量水平。
⑤ 倒装句的巧妙使用，起到圆满总结全文的作用。
