Section B

Part One Listening Skills: Places

Where does this conversation probably take place?

Where did it happen?

Where is...?

Example

You will hear:

Man:May I help you?

Woman: Yes, I’d like to cash these traveler’s checks first, and then open a savings account.

Question: Where does this conversation probably take place?

You will read:

A.In a department store.

B.In a bank.

C.At a tourist bureau.

D.At a hotel.

Example

You will hear:

Man:Excuse me, is this seat taken?

Woman: I don’t think so.That man has had his lunch and left a few minutes ago.

Question: Where does this conversation most likely take place?

You will read:

A.In the theater.

B.In the library.

C.In the restaurant.

D.In the railway station.

对话中的关键词是is this seat taken和had his lunch and left,由此可以判断谈话人所处地点是在餐馆,所以答案应为C项。
