数词的基本用法

考点14 数词的基本用法

数词是表示数目多少和顺序先后的词，可分为基数词和序数词两类。

1. 基数词——表示数目的多少

高考中主要考查的基数词可参见下表：

使用基数词时要注意：

（1）一般情况下基数词为单数形式，但在以下特殊情况下可以使用复数形式：①前边没有加数字或a few等其他限定词修饰的hundred和thousand和million等基数词可用复数形式，后面再加“of + 名词”，表示不确定的数量关系，例如： hundreds of people 数以百计的人 // thousands and thousands of workers 成千上万的工人。 ②在一些介词词组里表示方式，例如： They arrived in twos and threes. 他们三三两两地到达了。 ③表示人的岁数（以“in + the + 表示‘几十'的基数词的复数形式”）或年代。例如： He is in his thirties. 他三十多岁了。// It took place in the 1950 ' s. 那件事发生在二十世纪五十年代。

（2）表示数量的dozen（ n. 一打，十二个）和score（ n. 二十）可以被视为基数词。例如： I want a dozen pencils, please! 劳驾，我要一打铅笔。// Scores of people attended the meeting. 有数十个人参加了这次会议。

2. 序数词表示顺序，在英语句子中序数词前通常要加上定冠词the
