The Loess Plateau is the third largest plateau in China, covering an area of about 600,000 square kilometers, with an average elevation of 1,000-2,000 meters. Most of the plateau is covered with 50-80 meters thick loess. It is the region with the most concentrated and thickest coverage of loess in the world. This is a miracle created by nature and is unique in the world.

The Loess Plateau is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation. As early as 5,500 years ago, people began farming on the Loess Plateau.
