魏风·陟岵

陟彼 岵 hù 兮，瞻望父兮。父曰：嗟！予子行役，夙夜无已。上慎 旃 zhān 哉，犹来！无止！

陟彼 屺 qǐ 兮，瞻望母兮。母曰：嗟！予季行役，夙夜无寐。上慎旃哉，犹来！无弃！

陟彼冈兮，瞻望兄兮。兄曰：嗟！予弟行役，夙夜必偕。上慎旃哉，犹来！无死！

A Homesick Soldier

I climb the hill covered with grass

And look towards where my parents stay.

My father would say,“Alas!

My son’s on service far away;

He cannot rest night and day.

O may he take good care

To come back and not remain there!”

I climb the hill devoid of grass

And look towards where my parents stay.

My mother would say,“Alas!

My youngest son’s on service far away;

He cannot sleep well night and day.

O may he take good care

To come back and not be captive there!”

I climb the hilltop green with grass

And look towards where my brothers stay.

My eldest brother would say,

“Alas!My youngest brother is on service far away;

He stays with comrades night and day.

O may he take good care

To come back and not be killed there!”

我登高坡，遥望家中老父。

好像听见他在说：

“唉，吾儿在外服役，白天黑夜不得消停，望他当心自己，依旧归来，不要停下脚步。”

我登高坡，遥望家中母亲。

好像听见她在说：

“唉，小儿在外服役，白天黑夜，无法入睡。愿他当心自己，依旧归来，不会弃尸战场。”

我登高冈，遥望家中兄长。

好像听见他在说：

“唉，我弟在外服役，白天黑夜和同伴在一起。愿他当心自己，依旧归来，不会死在外乡。”
