齐风·东方未明

东方未明，颠倒衣裳。颠之倒之，自公召之。

东方未晞，颠倒裳衣。倒之颠之，自公令之。

折柳樊圃，狂夫瞿瞿。不能辰夜，不夙则莫。

A Tryst before Dawn

Before the east sees dawn,

You put on clothes upside down.

O upside down you put them on,

For orders come from ducal crown.

Before the east is bright,

You take the left sleeve for the right

You put in left sleeve your right arm,

For orders bring disorder and alarm.

Don’t leave my garden fence with willow tree;

Do not stare at my naked body, please.

You either come too late at night,

Or leave me early in twilight.

东边还未明亮，我就抓起衣裳，上衣下裳颠倒，为何如此惊慌？

我慌得颠倒衣裳，是因为公爷有令，叫我立即到场。

我慌得穿错衣裳，是因为公爷有令，叫我立即到场。

菜园篱笆上折一根柳条，用来计算时辰，无奈狂夫凶悍，冲着我不停地叫嚣。

我再无法分清白天黑夜，只知道不是早晨就是日暮。
