The amount of information contained in the World Health Organization report is huge.The report and its appendix gave me a detailed understanding of the time sequence of the emergence of the virus and all the response measures taken by Chinese medical institutions from the beginning of diagnosis to the time the report was issued.
In the report published 14 days ago, there were two main issues that caught my attention: The first issue was that until the time of the report, the WHO estimated that the virus had not spread from person to person because there was no evidence.This assessment was later proved to be incorrect.There are three possibilities for this error.One is that some infected people had no direct symptoms, and in some cases even no symptoms at all, which deceives medical staff; the second is that the diagnosis was insufficient; and the third is that the virus has mutated since then, over time, becoming more contagious and lethal.
The National Health Commission of China shared the genetic sequence information of the new coronavirus on January 12．According to the WHO, this is a very important matter not only for China, but also for all scientific institutions in other countries.As the organization said,China has begun “developing specific diagnostic tools”.The closure of wholesale markets and the increase in the number of confirmed cases have aroused my concern.There are many small and medium-sized fish markets in the city, and I often pass by them.Will any workers in these markets be infected? I suddenly remembered: There is a fish shop right under the house where I live now! “Ah, no!”
