Good morning！

On behalf of Hainan University， I’d like to extend my warmest congratulations to you for the opening of the 10th CAFIC International Conference！ My hearty welcome to all of you who are from some European and Asian countries， America， Australia， and various places of China， including Taiwan， Hong Kong and Macao. Again， welcome to Hainan University！

I trust our campus has given you a nice green impression on your way to the conference hall. Hainan University is the flagship institution of higher learning in this Province， and is one of the national 211 Project universities for our country’s strategic development through science， technology and education. On our campus， We have over 20 colleges， over hundred research institutes， centers and labs. We offer undergraduate， master， and doctoral programs for over 30 thousand students who are from different places of China and some foreign countries. We are proud that our graduates are making contributions to the development of our country.

My colleagues and I feel extremely fortunate to host the CAFIC International Conference. We encourage academic and cultural exchanges with universities in the country and around the world. We are very happy for being able to communicate with you face to face and learn from you today. I hope this conference will create more opportunities for exchange and learning， which will eventually contribute to the development of humankind.

The conference has a timely theme，“Intercultural Communication for a Harmonious World： Challenges and Opportunities .” In today’ s global village， there are more and more political， economic， educational， and cultural exchanges between peoples. It is important for everybody to have proper education in intercultural communication. This gigantic task cannot be done without our joint efforts.

The Conference is going to have keynote speeches， Senior Scholars’ Forums， and focused-interest paper sections. It means great learning opportunities for me， my colleagues， and students. I want to thank China Association for Intercultural Communication for choosing us as the host University. Thank you also for bringing us so many fine scholars and friends from around the world！ My best wishes to all of you for a successful Conference！
