The address on the envelope must be accurate, legible and placed in the appropriate location.Like the inside address, the address on the envelope can be written in two forms:the block form and the indented form.No matter in which way the address on the envelope is written,it is better to keep the same format as the inside address of the letter. The receiver’s address should be typed about halfway down the envelope, and the sender’s address should be placed on the left corner above the envelope.
Sometimes post notations such as via air mail, registered, confidential, private, urgent, etc.can be typed in the bottom left-hand corner.

If a letter is to be taken from the sender by someone to the receiver, write his name below the receiver’s name with the following words in front of it:By Politeness of,By Kindness of,Through the Courtesy of,Forward by,With Favor of,etc.
Sometimes, you may have to write a letter to someone who temporarily works in a certain company, and he will return to his original address. When he is in his temporary position and you write to him,add “care of”(c/o)in front of the company which he is staying with.
