Abstract

Abstract： Friendship between the peoples holds the key to sound state-to-state relations，and heart-to-heart communication contributes to deeper friendship. Cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Africa can help remove prejudices and misunderstandings，and help the general public of Africa better understand and appreciate Chinese culture，Chinese model，and development concepts. Cultural and people-to-people exchanges are also an important link and a starting point for building the foundation of public opinion for the Belt and Road Initiative. The construction of the Belt and Road not only helps the host country achieve “hard connectivity” by building roads and bridges，but also simultaneously realizes cultural and people-to-people exchanges and “soft connectivity” between China and Africa.

This report puts China-Africa cultural exchanges under the broad background of the Belt and Road construction. After sorting out the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative in Africa，firstly，it reviews the brief history of cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Africa；secondly it analyzes the current situation and the problems and challenges the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Africa face，and finally，on the basis of a brief analysis of the importance of China-Africa humanities exchanges，policy recommendations for strengthening China-Africa humanities exchanges in the future are put forward.
