Peace is the existence of pursuing the social relationship of justice，harmony，orderly and happiness.It is the most enduring and plain political pursuit of human.Nowadays，peace is an important political topic in the international community.Only pursuing peace can human exist the “species”，continue the “genus”and the world harmony.Peace － loving is the highlight of human nature and a way of “Poetical Justice”The Chinese is a peace － loving nation，“Chinese culture is a kind of peace culture”.According to the textual research，the ancient Chinese＇s understanding of peace is different from the West.The peace advocated by the ancient Chinese is stable，closed and authoritarian，while the way of the ancient Greece is characterized by justice，open and democracy.To Olympics，the pursuit of peace is the awakening of human self － awareness，it awakened human sleeping goodwill.
To avoid war and revere the jinn，the ancient Greeks created a rule，which is promoting regional “peace”through fair competition，namely，the Olympic “sacred truce”system.This is the ancient Greeks outstanding contributions to human civilization as well as the foundation for them to abandon the law of the jungle and establish public order for human，it is an innovation of sports system and political system.The creation of Olympic “sacred truce”system is closely linked to the democratic，just and fair political environment of the ancient Greece.Currently，domestic or foreign scholars studying the Olympic Games are keen to discuss the issues such as how to enhance athletic performance and economic benefits，only a few scholars are in the field of micro － political Olympics.As for the political study on the issue of the Olympic Games pursuing of peace，it has not been found any yet.
History has shown that the holy flame of peace which was lit in the Olympic Games of ancient Greece had brought the light of order to human.In the Ancient Greece，political philosophies of democracy，justice and fair are the guidelines for the ancient Olympic Games to pursue peace，that is，the ideological foundation of“sacred truce”system.As for the ancient China，the lack of similar social environment led to the slim existing chance of the Olympic Movement which pursues fair competition.The demise of the ancient Olympics “sacred truce”system was for many reasons，but mainly because of the devastating impact of its political decline.The revival of Modern Olympics is also because of the democratic，just and fair social environment which formed by the development of modern market economy and democracy.For centuries，although the modern Olympics fail to control the conflict or cease the flames of the war effectively as the ancient Olympics “sacred truce”system did，but its tenet of pursuing peace plays a positive role in rejecting the local war as well as promoting peace.
For the comprehensive analysis，the course of Modern Olympics pursuing peace is fraught with hardship and setbacks：First of all，the greatest challenge comes from the interference of extreme “genus”awareness；terrorism and the unrest of international politics are in the next place；thirdly，the impact of narrow athletic outlook.To achieve the Olympic ideal of promoting peace，the International Olympic Committee should take three reforming measures：First，the Olympic Games should actively cooperate with the politics and broadly seek the support of the international community；Secondly，we must strengthen the education of the Olympics pursuing peace and improve the quality of global participants；At last，we must emphasize the study on its security plan during the Olympic Games in order to avoid risks initiatively.
The course of Olympics pursuing peace is a politically and sportily combining history of advocating justice and striking evilness in which human beings have been continuously conducting autocriticism，quelling strife and pursuing peace.It demonstrates the wisdom of mankind，creates the “genus”civilization which combines politics with sports.Its developing course gives us much inspiration：First，the Olympics pursuing peace is a kind of politically significant public sportsmanship.It not only enhanced “genus”civilization of the sports，weakened the consciousness of“species”，spread the international public spirit，it also helped to accelerate the integration of nationalism and internationalism.Secondly，the Olympics pursuing peace erected a platform for cultural exchanges，contributing to the diversity of human culture as well as world peace and development，because the choice of Olympic sports itself is an aggregation of world multi － culture，its institutional and technical innovations also represent the international culture characters.Thirdly，the Olympic Games pursuing peace goes beyond itself，it is the awakening of human self－ awareness.It has lofty political sentiments.Nowadays，why there are so many conflicts which caused by excessive nationalism or the prize － induced attitude in the international games？That＇s because people did not understand the original meaning of “the Olympics pursuing peace”，that is，the participants did not exceed themselves.Fourthly，the Olympics pursuing peace could contribute to enhancing the national comprehensive strength of participant countries.For a long time，the Olympic Games is not only dedicated to human entertainment but passion，the passion making the participants love their life，motherland and the mankind more.Such passion can produce the strong spiritual force and help to raise the country＇s comprehensive strength.Fifthly，as for the political reality，the research on the Olympics pursuing peace will raise the level of the Beijing Olympics as well as the peaceful development of China.It also has great significance in resisting the “China threat theory”and carrying out China＇s “peaceful development”strategy.
Today，in this era of globalization，China will host the 2008 Olympic Games under the international social environment，which is quite important for the strategic analysis.Currently，the Beijing Olympics pursuing peace faces many political challenges at home and abroad，thus，we have to systematically analyze the reasons for these problems and take active measures accordingly：First，research on the Beijing Olympics soft construction to provide the basis for enhancing the value of its competitions.Soft construction shows the appeal and attraction of the country＇s values，culture，policies on other countries.It should accord with the trend of the times from the point of human morality and justice to gain international support and understanding.Secondly，the strategies of the Beijing Olympics should be adjusted for China＇s peace development.This firstly requires the Chinese government and its people to promote peace and development of the world including China，then achieve the expected goals such as competitive sport，economic returns and other social returns.Thirdly，adjusting the attitude and providing security for the Olympics stability.To achieve this goal，the Beijing Olympics should strive to surpass previous ones in four aspects：sport，culture，race and value.Fourthly，the cultivated education of citizens should be strengthened in order to create a good cultural environment for the Beijing Olympics.Fifthly，enrich the cultural content of the Beijing Olympics to make competitive rules more considerate.To keep the promise of hosting“humanistic Olympics”，we must carefully research on considerately competitive rules in line with the spirit of the Olympic Games while carrying forward the traditional culture of harmony.
In short，an in － depth study of the theory and practice of the Olympics pursuing peace is very necessary.It will enhance the ideological realm of the Olympic host country and change excessive nationalism or the prize － induced attitude of participant countries.The deep － understanding on the value of the Olympics pursuing peace is conducive to prompt the sustainable development of the Olympic Games as well as to control “stabilization － losing”of the Beijing Olympics，thereby promoting China＇s peaceful development.
