Synopsis

The Dao De Jing states, “We look at it, and we do not see it, and we name it Yi (the Equable). We listen to it, and we do not hear it, and we name it Xi (the Inaudible). We try to grasp it, and we do not get hold of it, and we name it Wei (the Subtle).”The great Dao transcends sensation and perception. From the perspectives of motivation, contents and principles, this book elucidates how to approach the subtlety of the great Dao .

The first part of this book introduces the motivation for qigong practice: the pursuit of joy, wisdom, and returning to our nature.

The second part introduces the contents of qigong practice, including both theory and methods. As for theory, this book highlights the theory of Taiji. It delves into the intrinsic realm of emotions and the external material world, and also explores the intricate interplay between them. Through this, the book aims to better assist its readers in gaining insights into themselves, enhancing personal development, and rediscovering their inherent nature.

The principles of qigong practice are rooted in man-nature correspondence. This book elaborates on the concept of man-nature correspondence through five levels: human, earth, heaven, Dao , and nature.

The last part of this book introduces the traditional qigong exercise named Ba Duan Jin (Eight Sections of Brocade). Through the practice of Ba Duan Jin , we discern subtleties, thereby transitioning from physical exercise to qi cultivation, and seeking tranquility within movements. This enables the experience of unity and integration between mind and body. 9+jxmEfa3pFilKubL1RzOCIFL04vUKW7AkaPnWMEwJ9pYrqSZDO0fcFX4E+IU0SR
