Dear Professor Langdon,

On behalf of the organizing committee, I'm writing to invite you to organize a team to parti-cipate in the international innovation contest to be held at our university. The contest aims to promote college students' enthusiasm for innovation. The contest is divided into two categories: innovative design and entrepreneurial practice. If you intend to participate in this contest, please submit the proposal of your team before March 20th, 2022. All contestants will be invited to attend the award ceremony held in the auditorium of our university on April 15th, 2022. I believe your team will bring us surprises and new enlightenment.

Part B

This cartoon describes the different attitudes of college students towards campus lectures. The girl on the left considers the lecture useless, because they are not related to her major. However, the girl on the right believes it surely pays to listen. Obviously, what this cartoon wants to express is that college students should widely absorb knowledge and enrich themselves, rather than learning knowledge in only one specific subject area. The reasons are as follows:

On the one hand, students with more com-prehensive knowledge and wider cognition are more popular in the job market. In other words, compared with those who only master their own specific field of knowledge, students with all-round development are more likely to obtain job opportunities. On the other hand, modern society is running at a high speed and changing all the time. College students should hold an enterprising spirit and maintain a thirst for knowledge, so as to improve themselves and be prepared for their future.

Therefore, I believe that college students should not miss any opportunity to acquire knowledge to achieve their all-round development. Only in this way can they grow faster and have a brighter future.
