Suona consists of a reed-made reed,a copper connector,a cone-shaped wooden wind, and a horn (bowl). During playing, the sound of the sounding body-reed spread through the wooden wind and resonates at the mouth of the horn, thus making a loud and clear sound. There are 8 holes in the Suona,7 on the front and 1 on the back. The back-hole sound is the same as the drum overblowing sound, and the 8 th hole sounds the same as the first hole overblowing.

The foot Suona is mostly used in descending B key,and is commonly used by artists nowadays. The small Suona (haidi) is mostly used for solo.
