Two months ago you got a job as an editor for the magazine Design ＆ Fashions . But now you find that the work is not what you expected. You decide to quit. Write a letter to your boss, Mr. Wang, telling him your decision, stating your reason(s), and making an apology.
Write your letter with no less than 100 words. Write it neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. Do not sign your name at the end of the letter; use “Li Ming” instead. You do not need to write the address.

应用文是2005年考研写作新增的题型，总分10分，全国平均得分5.75，难度系数0.575，区分度0.535，命题难度适中，一半左右的考生得分在6分以上，是2005年全国考生最易得分的题型。这是一封下级写给上级的辞职信，应该采用正式文体，避免使用缩写、省略和口语表达等非正式语言。
2005年考研之前，很多辅导机构都建议考生准备求职信等常考书信，但考研命题组为了避免考生押题，出题会比较灵活，不会考太过简单的应用文。此题考到了辞职信加道歉信两种书信的组合，前两段表示辞职，第三段进行道歉，缺一不可。其实辞职信和求职信写法类似，反其道而行之即可。因此考生复习考研写作时，千万不要押题，务必全面准备。只要是大纲要求的写作题型，都有可能考到。考生可能都会准备求学信的写法，但假设考到退学信加投诉信等两种书信的组合，也应在考场灵活应对。
由题目要求可知，2005年考研写作命题发生了一些变化，即去掉了原来题目中的三点提纲序号，但考生应该清楚，不管是小作文还是大作文，最好都写成三段。本篇文章的结构可划分为：第一段告诉老板你的决定，第二段说明原因，第三段表示歉意。写作时严格按照提纲来写，顺序不宜打乱。另外，可以使用提纲中的关键词，但是千万不要照抄其中的词组或句子，否则会被扣分。对提纲中的词汇和句子结构最好进行同义替换，这样才能与众不同，取得高分。
本文第一段应首先进行自我介绍，同时表达自己受聘后对公司的感激之情。第二段写明辞职原因，注意应用文应注意礼貌，不要使用过激言语；原因最好有二至三点，一点太过单薄，可从工作性质、工作环境、自身能力、家庭情况、工作待遇等方面解释原因，争得对方同情；第三段应礼貌地对给公司带来的不便表示歉意。

2010年考研英语（一）小作文考查了告示这种题型。2009年教育部考试中心出版的《考试大纲》和《考试分析》中并未提到告示，但从2004年考研大纲改革以来，《大纲解析》一书中均详细讲解了告示的写法。2009版《大纲解析》中将小作文明确分为书信类应用文和告示类应用文两大题型，详尽分析了告示的写作方法，并提供了六篇告示范文。
值得注意的是，近两年考研小作文考题均源于近年大学英语四级写作真题。2009年1月10日考研小作文真题源于2008年12月20日四级写作真题“Limiting the Use of Disposable Plastic Bags”。而2010年的考研小作文题目则来自2006年6月17日四级写作真题：

回顾2010年，中国内地电影票房成功突破100亿元，成为蒸蒸日上的朝阳产业。从年中的《唐山大地震》《盗梦空间》《山楂树之恋》到年底的三大贺岁片《赵氏孤儿》《让子弹飞》《非诚勿扰2》，电影已经重新成为全民关注的产业。考研小作文就考查了“电影”这一热点话题。
需要注意的是，写信给朋友时应该直呼其名，不应写某某先生/女士。本题属于半正式文体中的私人书信，文中最好使用3~5次缩写、省略句或口语表达。提纲的两点可以各写一段，第三段进行结尾。首段无须进行自我介绍，开门见山表明写作目的即可；第二段应该分析两到三点原因。

2013年考研英语（一）小作文第八次考查了书信作文，属于写给外教的公务邀请信。值得注意的是，从2012年开始，考研命题组与时俱进，英语（一）、（二）小作文命题不再考查日常生活中已很少使用的letter，而是替换为大家熟悉的e-mail形式。其实二者没有本质区别，最新大纲仍将之统称为“私人或公务信函”，写法也大同小异。
人们在生活与工作中均会用到e-mail，但e-mail也分为私人与公务两种。私人书信语气随意，可使用3-5次缩写、省略句或口语表达等非正式语言；公务书信则较为正式，最好不要使用非正式语言。
2005年考研开考小作文以来，从未考过邀请信，2013年首开先河。
考研写作要求采用缩进式：段间不空行，每段首行缩进四个字母。由于本文是写给外教的邀请信，属于正式文体，应采用“Dear Professor/Mr./Ms....”等较为正式的称呼，不宜直呼其名。首段可进行自我介绍、表明写作目的（邀请对方做英文演讲比赛评委）；次段应介绍具体细节：如比赛情况、邀请原因或负担食宿交通费用等；尾段可表示感谢并期待回信。落款应采用“Yours sincerely,”或“Yours truly,”等公务落款，不宜使用“Yours,”或“Yours faithfully,”等私人落款。签名切勿写自己的真实姓名，应用Li Ming代替。

本书2018版第二章应用文第五节“二十大重点范文”第十二篇即道歉信，几乎全文可以使用，下面的范文即完全改写自该范文。同时，第六节十大万能框架第一篇即道歉信框架，诸多表达均可使用。笔者《（2018）考研英语（二）高分写作考前预测20篇》中，小作文十大预测范文第三篇即道歉信，全文可用。
本题是写给教授的一封公务书信，属于正式文体，最好不要使用缩写、省略、口语表达等非正式语言。题目中出现了人名，称呼直接写“Dear Professor Smith,”即可。第一段第一句可以进行自我介绍，也可以不写。其次应该改写第一点提纲，亦即书信的写作目的，向教授表示歉意并说明情况。第二段应该详细解释为何不得不取消旅行计划，同时改写第二点提纲，提议预约一次会面。第三段可以向教授表示感谢并期待回信。

继2010年英语（一）、2015年英语（二）、2016年英语（一）之后，本题第四次考查告示这一题型，属于比赛通告。另外，2013年英语（一）小作文考查了关于英语演讲比赛的邀请信，很多表达均可借鉴。笔者当年在北京新东方学校面授班及新东方在线网络课程中，均提醒考生高度关注告示题型，并详细讲解过这些真题范文，如果考生之前学习过，并不难写。
笔者所著《（2020）考研英语高分写作》第206页提供了关于比赛通告的告示框架，第198页也提供了一篇招新启事的预测范文，几乎全文均可使用。《（2020）考研英语（一）高分写作考前预测20篇》第38页提供了关于比赛通告的告示框架，第26页提供了一篇告示的预测范文，全文可用。
考前，笔者的微信公众号“王江涛老师”针对英语（一）考生推荐了六篇小作文终极预测，其中第六篇即一篇比赛通告的告示，几乎命中原题，全文可用。
需要注意的是，告示的格式包括四个部分：标题、日期、正文、落款。标题应该放在第一行中央，注意大小写。日期放在标题右下方，一般写法是月日年。正文分为一至三段均可，最好写三段，使用现在时或将来时。落款放在正文下一行右下方，应使用学生会，不能写李明或其他人名。
本文第一段可以阐明告示五大要素：活动目的（提高能力、丰富活动）、主办方（学生会）、活动内容（歌咏比赛）、地点（学生娱乐中心）、时间（2020年3月1日）。第二段可以具体介绍歌咏比赛的内容、参赛者要求、评委、奖励等细节。第三段应说明报名时间、地点，并再次表明写作目的，欢迎大家参加。
本题是一篇写给留学生的公务告示，属于正式文体，不应使用太多缩写、省略句和口语表达。

▶ To improve international students' abilities and enrich extracurricular activities, the Student Union of our university is organizing a school-wide singing contest to be held at the Students' Recreational Center on March 1, 2020.
▶ For the singing contest, candidates may choose from various kinds of songs, regardless of whether they are in Mandarin, or in a foreign language, popular or classical ones. Five prestigious professors from Central Conservatory of Music will be invited as honorable judges. The first six winners will be awarded prizes.
▶ Those interested in taking part should sign up with their monitors before February 10, 2020. It will serve as a platform to demonstrate your outstanding singing talents. Everybody is welcome to be present at the contest.

▶ I am attaching the minutes of the last class meeting for your review. The summary of the meeting on contributing to Project Hope is as follows.
▶ Firstly, moved by the noble cause of Project Hope and encouraged by what has been achieved so far, we agreed to contribute our part to the project by offering financial aid to a senior high school student in a remote area of Sichuan Province. Secondly, we will seek out a girl whose family cannot afford her education. Lastly, our plan is to pay for her tuition on an annual basis until she graduates from high school. We would like to remit our donation directly to a bank account opened by her family in her local area.
