油布伞避邪

在古时候，雨天和炙热的夏天困扰着人们，人们不得不躲避到小亭子的下面而不能外出。有这样一个传说，鲁班围绕着他的四邻建造了许多小亭子供大家使用，但仍然不能让人们在狂风暴雨的季节自由地外出活动。鲁班的妻子这时照着她丈夫所建亭子的样式，用竹条和油布制成了一个重量轻的“竹亭子”——这当然就是雨伞。鲁班的妻子对他说：“你建造的房子不能搬起、移动。而我的伞，能带着到处走动并可以在各种季节里提供防护。”

In ancient times, rainy days and hot summer plagued people. People had to hide under small pavilions and could not go out. There is a legend that Ban Lu built many small pavilions around his neighbors for everyone to use, but still could not let people go out freely in the stormy season. His wife then made a light-weight “bamboo Pavilion”out of bamboo strips and tarpaulin, following the pattern of the pavilion her husband had built.Of course,this was an umbrella. Ban Lu's wife said to him, “the house you built can't be lifted or moved. My umbrella can carry around and provide protection in all seasons.”
