Main features: the color is as black as ink, the texture is fine and smooth, and the shape is big at the top and small at the bottom. It is commonly known as“cloud head and rain feet”, and it has the potential of fish leaping over the dragon's gate. In line with the traditional stone appreciation view of“thin, transparent, leaky, wrinkled and ugly”.

云头雨脚

云头雨脚是传统赏石的一个重要命题。“云头雨脚”最早出处在辛弃疾的《贺新郎·拄杖重来约》:“九万里风斯在下,翻覆云头雨脚。”

古代文人的审美修养令人敬佩,他们把赏石情趣推向了极致。这在一些奇石命名中得以体现,如“云头雨脚”就颇耐人寻味,成为传统赏石的经典命题。

“夕阳芳草寻常物,解用都为绝妙词。”(清·袁枚)对“云头雨脚”进行全新的解读,是对经典的剖析和展露,也是内在审美潜能的释放。唯有如此,才会从“云头雨脚”的赏玩中感受到蕴含的深沉意味和鲜活的生命信息。

科学的认知上最忌犯“这她就是那她”,但在观赏的审美解读中,只要是言之成理的见解,就在解读的长河里绵延不息。观赏石解读为发散性思维所支配,是把石中所隐示的审美信息无限扩展。

“云头雨脚”的审美情趣是建立在多重意义的基础之上的。窈窕淑女云头,乃指女子之云髻,挽发而结于顶,谓之“云髻”。曹植《洛神赋》曰:“云髻峨峨,修眉联娟”。雨脚,谓美人之莲步。宋·孔平仲《观舞》诗曰:“云髻应节低,莲步随歌舞。”“云头雨脚”是对女子的形容。

“云头雨脚”是和谐辩证法。用之于自然,则万物化生;用之于个人,则身心抱一;用之于夫妻,则为“云雨”,乃家庭和睦;用之于社会,则风调雨顺,百姓安居乐业;用之于国家,则是泽被天下,政通人和。

Cloud head and rain feet is an important proposition of traditional stone appreciation. The earliest source of“cloud head and rain feet”was Qiji Xin's greeting the bridegroom·hanging a staff to see you again:“under the wind of 90000 miles, overturn the cloud head and rain feet.”

The ancient literati's aesthetic accomplishment is admirable. They pushed the taste of appreciating stones to the extreme. This is reflected in the naming of some rare stones. For example, “cloud head and rain feet”is quite thought-provoking and has become a classic proposition of traditional stone appreciation.

“The setting sun, fragrant grass and common things are wonderful words.”( Mei Yuan, Qing Dynasty) was a new interpretation of“cloud head and rain feet”,and was not only an analysis and exposure of classics, but also the release of internal aesthetic potential. Only in this way can we feel the deep meaning and fresh breath of life during appreciating the “cloud head and rain feet”.

The most taboo in scientific cognition is “this she is that she”. However, in the aesthetic interpretation of appreciation, as long as it is a reasonable opinion, it will continue in the long river of interpretation.The interpretation of appreciation stones is dominated by divergent thinking, which is the infinite expansion of the aesthetic information implied in the stones.

The aesthetic interest of“cloud head and rain feet”is based on multiple meanings. The cloud head of a fair lady refers to a woman's cloud bun, which is tied at the top of her hair, and is called “cloud bun”.According to the Luoshen Fu written by Zhi Cao ,“The bun is towering like a cloud, and the long eyebrow is curved and slender.” Rain feet are the lotus steps of beauty. The Song Dynasty Pingzhong Kong's poem watching dance said:“the cloud bun should be low at the festival, and the lotus steps should follow the song and dance.”“Cloud head and rain feet”is a description of women.

“Cloud head and rain feet”is a dialectic of harmony. If it is used in nature, all things will be transformed; if it is used for individuals, then the body and mind become united; when it is used for husband and wife, it is called “cloud and rain”, which means family harmony; if it is used in society, the weather will be good and the people will live and work in peace and contentment; if it is used in the country, it will benefit the whole country and make the government and the people harmonious.
