It’s a coincidence that I came to Hengdian.
The lands of Hengdian raised me up.
Over the past 8 decades, I have lived and worked in Hengdian, while strictly speaking, I was not a born and raised Hengdianer, but in a small village called Xindong Village in Dongyang County.
Located in the middle of Zhejiang Province, Dongyang got its name from its location because it is located at the south of Jinhua Mountain and the east of Wujiang River.With a long history, the Dongyang County was first set up in 195 AD, and the Dongyang City was not established until in 1988.
Where Dapan mountain and Kuaiji Mountain meet in the northeast of Dongyang, they are divided into three main arteries extending from east to west, forming a landform of “Three Mountains with two basins sandwiched between, and two rivers in two basins”.Pingyan Mountain in the middle acts as a great screen separating Dongyang from the north and the south.Hengdian is situated on the banks of the south sides of Bamian mountain.I was born in Xindong Village, which is located in the northern side of Dongyang about 20 km away from Hengdian.There are still some differences in dialects and customs.
It’s a coincidence that I came to Hengdian.It is the lands of Hengdian that raised me up, and nurtured my career.
