A boy’s hand was stung by a nettle when he was gathering berries from a hedge. He ran back in pain to tell his mother with sob, “I just touched it slightly, Mom.”

“That’s just why you got stung, my son,” she said. “If you grasped it firmly, it won’t hurt you.”
