This book introduces the Exercises of Five Elements to help children boost their immune system, brighten their eyes and lift their spirits. Specifically, the Exercises of Five Elements include three simple exercises, namely, Exercise of Five Elements for Children,Exercise of Five Elements for Brightening the Eyes and Exercise of Five Elements for Walking Stride.

Starting from the history of five elements as well as qigong practice, this book firstly illustrates the birth of the three exercises,and tells two interesting stories about Hua Tuo (a noted physician) and Wang Xizhi (an eminent calligrapher) in their qigong practice.Secondly, it expounds the basic theories in the exercises, including yin yang, five elements, zang-fu organs, meridians and collaterals. Then it introduces the features and essentials of the exercises, for example,the “three regulations (body regulation, breath regulation and mind regulation)” and the basic technique for body regulation — “arched extending”. Finally, this book demonstrates the specific Movements of the three exercises via figures and affiliated online videos. All of the three exercises contain five specific Movements. The Exercise of Five Elements for Brightening the Eyes includes Keeping the Eyes Wide Open Like a Tiger (Wood), Focusing the Eyes backward Tenderly Like a Deer (Water), Rotating the Eyes Flexibly Like a Bear (Earth), Blinking Quickly Like a Monkey (Fire) and Looking out into the Distance Like a Crane (Metal). The Exercise of Five Elements for Walking Stride includes A Fierce Tiger Springs down from the Mountain (Wood), A Deer Glances back Gracefully (Water), A Bear Walks forward (Earth),A Monkey Picks Peaches (Fire) and A Crane Spreads Wings (Metal).
