In most major cities, a wide range of crimes might be seen as one of the most disgusting problems by the local authorities. These days, a rising percentage of juvenile delinquency is drawing a great deal of attention from sides of our community, especially parents and educators. What might be the reasons for the trend and how we can get it under control have become one-million-pound topics.
Of multiple reasons, the most obvious one might be a growing amount of violence through modern media such as TV, films and the Internet. Facts have been proved that there is a large quantity of too cruel pictures and dirty parts watched and spread through media. When young people surf on the Internet, some dirty pictures might come up straightaway; when they turn on TV, bloody shots might be in view. All of these have direct or indirect impact on their behaviour and psychology.
In addition, the trend should be attributed to their parents, who are always busy with their own business paying less attention to their offspring. Facts show that most parents would rather spend more time working, meeting their friends or enjoying their own hobbies than communicating with their children. When asked the reasons, they admitted that there was a big generation gap. However, I hardly believe it is good enough because it is nothing more than the excuse of avoiding their duty and being selfish.
Certainly, there are alternatives such as education and ineffective social security. However, now that the trend has been seen, the point would be the avenues. A possible solution is that news organization should give harsher punishment to the unhealthy contents on media. Besides, young people should be asked to go for some sports games or voluntary work, which might make them learn to help and respect others.
