教育类话题一直是历年雅思学术类写作的常考话题。不管参加几月份的考试，切不可放弃对教育类话题的复习。
对工作与生活的话题的考查近年来有所增加，这一趋势反映了雅思写作与日常生活的联系日益密切。而其中的意识形态类话题因内容抽象且多为新题，成了考试的一个难点。考生应对这些已考话题进行认真思考和准备。如近年考过的题目“Few people devote time to hobbies nowadays. Say why you think this is the case and what effect this has on the individual and society in general.”。
虽然近来不断涌现新的雅思考题，但事实上这些题目也只是各个高频话题的排列组合。只要平时把基础打好，多关注一些近期热议的话题，就不难找到每个貌似全新的考题的真面目。建议考生多看看BBC、CNN或者其他英文媒体的报道，积累热议话题的英文表达。面对抽象的新题，有一点很重要，那就是将其具体化，并与近期发生的事件相关联，这样在考场上考生就不会觉得无从下笔，紧张慌乱了。
