The book in question was about soaring ideals. It retells the tale of an inextinguishable spark of an idea that has spread across the world. It was in 1848 that the German edition of the Manifesto of the Communist Party was first published–a monumental work that laid out a future path for human ideals on the horizon and declared in its opening pages that "a specter is haunting Europe–the specter of Communism". By 1871,this flicker of a flame spread from Germany to France, where it set the desolate land on fire. The Paris Commune was the first attempt to form a political system for the proletariat and constitutes a glowing chapter in the history of working-class revolutions. Far from going out at this point, the flame was kept alight and spread to Asia where it burned like wildfire. In 1917,the sound of gunfire from the Russian cruiser Aurora woke the sleeping Chinese nation and gave rise to a brilliant new dawn.
At times this spark burned brightly, and at others it dimmed. It battled the elements and reflected the light of truth.Although sometimes the flame merely flickered, it continued to grow brighter and became a shining star that led the Chinese people to break free from the bonds of the old world and create a new one in its place. In 1840, when the Opium War broke out, Western powers used the firepower of their warships to open a way into China, a country that had been shut off to the world for centuries. They shattered the dreams and mystery that had shrouded the Heavenly Empire and brought an end to the time when China ruled as other nations revered her and paid her tribute from all corners of Asia. Confronted with the cruelty and recklessness of the Western capitalist powers, countless innocent people shed their blood and lost their lives. They painstakingly searched for answers in the darkness, faced setbacks, and failed. But it was history, together with the people, that chose the Communist Party of China to shoulder the heavy burden of saving, invigorating, and strengthening the nation. Adopting the bold spirit found in the phrase, "As long as the true doctrine persists, it doesn’t matter if my head is cut off," they looked for the right ideology, persevered with the doctrine, and developed and innovated this ideal. Under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, successive generations of the Communist Party of China sought to seek truth from facts and strove to adapt to the times. This led to theories such as Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Theory of Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. These theories informed the revolution, reconstruction, and reform of the country and rejuvenated the spirit of the great Chinese nation.
The famous Russian cruiser Aurora is 124 meters long and 18 meters wide. First launched in 1900, it began to operate in 1903, and it came to be highly regarded in Russian military history for its service. In November of 1917, it was Aurora that fired the first shots of gunfire that started the October Revolution. And according to classical mythology, the Roman goddess Aurora was the deity who would wake those who were asleep and bring about the light of dawn. In 1948, the Aurora Cruiser was formally decommissioned and anchored in a calm stretch of the Neva River for people to come aboard and tour. Sixty years later, this legendary battleship was once again lit up, this time by the blazing flame of the Olympic torch. It was on April 5, 2008, that the torch of the Beijing Olympic Games reached Saint Petersburg and was brought to an important stop–the Aurora Cruiser.
