初级准备：27张核心卡片
Hallie把所有的卡片筛选了一遍，总结了27张核心素材卡片。这些素材卡片涉及雅思口语考试中所有的题材和词汇。考生对此需要深入准备。
一旦掌握了这些词汇和句型，所有的卡片都很容易准备。
比如：
Describe a kind of wild animal.
You should say:
what it is
where you know it
the life the animal has
And explain what you think of it.
这道题目包括四个要素：（1）动物名称；（2）在哪里遇到的（可以在哪里生存）；（3）它的生活习性；（4）为什么会说起它（为什么喜欢，为什么感兴趣等）。当你把这些都研究透彻的时候，相信很多人都不如你对这个动物熟悉。这样当考官问到Part3的问题的时候，你就不太会遇到生词问题。谈到这里，上过Hallie课的学生一定能明白，为什么Hallie鼓励大家说一些特别的动物。因为这样在知识点上会有相对的优越性。
I’d like to talk about penguins. They are lovely animals in the South Pole. I like penguins because I went to a polar aquarium and saw them. While we were watching the penguins, the guide told us about them. She said that penguins lay only one egg each year, and that egg hatching is the father’s responsibility. The penguin mother will jump into the sea and search for food. The penguin father will put the egg between his legs on top of his feet. He must stand in the wind for about 64 days. He can’t eat anything. He can’t drink anything. He can’t move at all. He will stand there like a statue because the egg is fragile, and if he moves, the egg will break. By the time the baby penguin hatches, the father will be extremely thin. As I listened to the guide’s talk, the penguins’story deeply appealed to me. This is the greatness of nature. This is the responsibility of parents.
仔细看一下这张卡片
（1）in the South Pole可以换成非洲，这样就可以叙述狮子和犀牛；也可以换成澳大利亚，这样就能用来叙述袋鼠和河狸；还可以换成北极，然后叙述北极熊；再换成美洲，后面讲述美洲豹……
（2）aquarium在这里可以看到绝大多数鱼类。
（3）While we were watching the penguins, the guide told us about them. 这个句型几乎是通用的，在任何情况下，都可以从导游那里获得信息，而且这个信息相当全面。
（4）紧接着叙述的lay only one egg；egg hatching；search for food；the egg is fragile；the baby penguin hatches这些词，是每一种鸟类都必须而且是主要叙述的内容。
（5）后面的这个感慨也是万能的。在无数的卡片里面都可以用到。As I listened to the guide’s talk, the penguins’story deeply appealed to me. This is the greatness of nature. This is the responsibility of parents.
看，当学会了这一张卡片，很多话题都可以用这个卡片来改造。比如：
OK。看到企鹅超级粉丝的力量了吧！处处与它相关，没有人比你更熟悉！
不用担心自己所有的卡片内容相似，毕竟在考场上只会测试你一张卡片。当然你也不一定非要准备企鹅，长颈鹿、袋鼠……都很不错。
注意：27张核心卡片每张都必须准备。
中级准备：5类派生卡片
这是卡片改造的基本手法，即在核心卡片的基础上，对主要情节做限定就可以改造出来卡片。如果说27张核心卡片解决的是主要题材的问题，那么这5类派生卡片解决的就是所有卡片的思路。比如：
（1）Holiday：这是对时间做限定。在这段时间里，可以发生很多事情。你可以把任何一个核心卡片的内容套进去。比如刚才说到的企鹅，可以说，假期去看企鹅去了，然后详细描述企鹅的细节。
（2）Lake, river or sea / a place with water：这是对地点做限定。只要是有水的地方，一切跟水相关的人、动物、植物、物品、名词术语，都是可谈的。比如，可以在有水的地方看到企鹅，甚至做企鹅的广告，反对温室效应，倡导环保都没有问题。
（3）A person you want to be in the future：这是对人物做限定。你崇拜某个偶像是因为在他身上有自己的梦想。你把自己的思想移植到偶像身上，这很能被理解。比如，自己是企鹅的超级粉丝，羡慕研究企鹅的人，以其为榜样，那么他就是A person you want to be in the future。
（4）News：这类卡片具有强烈的过程特点，摆明了是要考生讲故事。那就讲一个关于企鹅的新闻吧。粉丝么，怎么可能不关心企鹅呢。一则跟企鹅相关的新闻对你而言，不费吹灰之力。
（5）Good news from phone：不要被这个话题吓到。电话里传来的可以是任何一个好消息，只是出处不同。作为企鹅的超级粉丝，如果有人给你参观企鹅的门票，这绝对是好消息。要是有人提供送你去南极的机会，那简直是天大的喜讯。下面就看自己的发挥了。
个性准备：PS角度卡片
在27张核心卡片和5W卡片的基础上，进一步做调整，让答案形式变得更为多样。从这类卡片起，开始强调语法，特别是时态。
（1）个人角度卡片：
有些卡片因人而异。比如Building in your university or school，如果你是学生，那么就要用一般现在时；如果已经毕业了，就需要用过去时。
（2）浓缩角度卡片：
大家现在已经不畏惧卡片了，毕竟卡片是可以提前准备的。Hallie也会给大家预测。经过前面的准备已经可以应对所有的卡片了。那么Part1和Part3的问题怎么办？
依然很简单。在准备卡片问题的时候，已经积累了大量的词汇和素材。所有的Part1和Part3中的问题都是Part2的浓缩版。大家一起来看。
如果考官问：
Do you like travelling by air?
*超级喜欢
I really prefer to travel by air because I think the flight attendants are really beautiful. It is a kind of enjoyment to see them. Their service is superb.（You Like+旅行话题）
*无所谓
I don’t mind what so ever. I think travelling by air can save me a lot of time. I will get to my destination much faster than taking other transportations.（Like or Dislike+旅行话题）
*超级讨厌
I really hate to travel by air because I am afraid of height. Once I took the airplane to another city, and I was nearly scared to death. I really don’t want to have that kind of experience again.（Dislike+过去经历）
高级准备：8组关键词卡片
在雅思口语考试中，有8组关键词特别显眼，每一类都有相对固定的表达方式，我们称之为8 Likes。
