反应光、热、声音等的“传感器”被叫作sensor。sens、sent是表示“感觉”之意的词根。sense表示“感觉”“知觉”“自觉”“良知”，sensation是感觉上的“轰动”，sentence指“诉说感受”，后引申出“文章”或“判决”之意。
