应用文是2005年考研写作新增的题型，总分10分，全国平均得分5.75，难度系数0.575，区分度0.535，命题难度适中，一半左右的考生得分在6分以上，是2005年全国考生最易得分的题型。这是一封下级写给上级的辞职信，应该采用正式文体，避免使用缩写、省略和口语表达等非正式语言。
2005年考研之前，很多辅导机构都建议考生准备求职信等常考书信，但考研命题组为了避免考生押题，出题会比较灵活，不会考太过简单的应用文。此题考到了辞职信加道歉信两种书信的组合，前两段表示辞职，第三段进行道歉，缺一不可。其实辞职信和求职信写法类似，反其道而行之即可。因此考生复习考研写作时，千万不要押题，务必全面准备。只要是大纲要求的写作题型，都有可能考到。考生可能都会准备求学信的写法，但假设考到退学信加投诉信等两种书信的组合，也应在考场灵活应对。
由题目要求可知，2005年考研写作命题发生了一些变化，即去掉了原来题目中的三点提纲序号，但考生应该清楚，不管是小作文还是大作文，最好都写成三段。本篇文章的结构可划分为：第一段告诉老板你的决定，第二段说明原因，第三段表示歉意。写作时严格按照提纲来写，顺序不宜打乱。另外，可以使用提纲中的关键词，但是千万不要照抄其中的词组或句子，否则会被扣分。对提纲中的词汇和句子结构最好进行同义替换，这样才能与众不同，取得高分。
本文第一段应首先进行自我介绍，然后开门见山，告诉老板你的辞职决定，也就是本文的写作目的。第二段写明辞职原因，注意应用文应注意礼貌，不要使用过激言语；原因最好有二至三点，一点太过单薄，可从工作性质、工作环境、自身能力、家庭情况、工作待遇等方面解释原因，争得对方同情；第三段应礼貌地对给公司带来的不便表示歉意，同时可以表达自己受聘后对公司的感激之情，期待尽快得到老板的答复。

我很高兴策划一场关于城市交通的主题辩论。我建议辩论的主题是“私家车——是利还是弊？”
我这样建议的主要原因如下。一方面，有些人声称拥有私家车有很多优点。私家车能给人更大程度的舒适感和灵活性。另一方面，另外一些人强烈反对拥有私家车。他们坚持认为私家车会极大地加重交通堵塞，以至于它舒适和自由的优点常常被因交通堵塞而产生的沮丧所抵消。
我的安排是辩论将于12月22日在学生活动中心举行。期待着您的答复。

你们大学的学生会指派你告知留学生一场即将到来的歌咏比赛。请写一篇大约100词的告示。
继2010年英语（一）、2015年英语（二）、2016年英语（一）之后，本题第四次考查告示这一题型，属于比赛通告。另外，2013年英语（一）小作文考查了关于英语演讲比赛的邀请信，很多表达均可借鉴。笔者当年在北京新东方学校面授班及新东方在线网络课程中，均提醒考生高度关注告示题型，并详细讲解过这些真题范文，如果考生之前学习过，并不难写。
笔者所著《（2020）考研英语高分写作》第206页提供了关于比赛通告的告示框架，第198页也提供了一篇招新启事的预测范文，几乎全文均可使用。《（2020）考研英语（一）高分写作考前预测20篇》第38页提供了关于比赛通告的告示框架，第26页提供了一篇告示的预测范文，全文可用。
考前，笔者的微信公众号“王江涛”针对英语（一）考生推荐了六篇小作文终极预测，其中第六篇即一篇比赛通告的告示，几乎命中原题，全文可用。
需要注意的是，告示的格式包括四个部分：标题、日期、正文、落款。标题应该放在第一行中央，注意大小写。日期放在标题右下方，一般写法是月日年。正文分为一至三段均可，最好写三段，使用现在时或将来时。落款放在正文下一行右下方，应使用学生会，不能写李明或其他人名。
本文第一段可以阐明告示五大要素：活动目的（提高能力、丰富活动）、主办方（学生会）、活动内容（歌咏比赛）、地点（学生娱乐中心）、时间（2020年3月1日）。第二段可以具体介绍歌咏比赛的内容、参赛者要求、评委、奖励等细节。第三段应说明报名时间、地点，并再次表明写作目的，欢迎大家参加。
本题是一篇写给留学生的公务告示，属于正式文体，不应使用太多缩写、省略句和口语表达。

To improve international students’ abilities and enrich extracurricular activities, the Student Union of our university is organizing a school-wide singing contest to be held at the Students’ Recreational Center on March 1, 2020.
For the singing contest, candidates may choose from various kinds of songs, regardless of whether they are in Mandarin, or in a foreign language, popular or classical ones. Five prestigious professors from Central Conservatory of Music will be invited as honorable judges. The first six winners will be awarded prizes.
Those interested in taking part should sign up with their monitors before February 10, 2020. It will serve as a platform to demonstrate your outstanding singing talents. Everybody is welcome to be present at the contest.
