句型 1 It’s great to hear that ... 听说……,这太好/棒了。

例句: It’s great to hear that we can go camping together.

听说我们可以一起去露营,这太好了。

It’s great to hear that you are going to help me with the gardening.

听说你要帮我做些园艺工作,这太棒了。

详解: 这个句型通常用在一封邮件正文的开头,用来回复一个好消息。常用在回信开头的还有:It’s good to hear from you. / Nice to hear from you. 很高兴收到你的来信。

近义句型: It’s great that ... ……太好/棒了。

例句: It’s great that you won the competition.

你赢了比赛,太棒了。

句型 2 I’m sorry to hear that ... 听说……,我很难过/遗憾/抱歉。

例句: I’m sorry to hear that you failed the exam.

听说你考试没通过,我很遗憾。

I’m sorry to hear that the party may be cancelled due to the bad weather.

听说聚会可能会因为天气恶劣而取消,我很难过。

详解: 这个句型用来回复一个坏消息,that后面接宾语从句,具体阐述这个坏消息。

同义句型: I’m sorry to hear about ... 听说……,我很难过。(about是介词,后面接名词或名词短语。)

例句: I’m sorry to hear about your illness.

听说你生病了,我很难过。

句型 3 Thank you for ... 谢谢你……

例句: Thank you for your email.

谢谢你给我发邮件。

详解: Thank you for ... 后面可以接名词、名词短语或动名词结构。这个句型也可以写成Thanks for ...。

例句: Thanks for your email. 谢谢你给我发邮件。

句型 4 I / would / ’d rather ... 我宁愿……

例句: I would rather stay at home.

我宁愿待在家里。

I’d rather give up the scholarship because this is not my dream school.

我宁可放弃奖学金,因为这不是我梦想中的学校。

详解: I’d rather是I would rather的缩写,常用于非正式场合,后面接动词原形。英语中还有would rather do A than do B的句型,表示“宁愿做A,也不愿意做B”。

例句: I would rather watch TV than hang out with him.

我宁愿看电视也不想和他闲逛。

句型 5 You had / ’d better ... 你/你们最好……

We had / ’d better ... 我们最好……

例句: You had better tell him about the news yourself.

你最好自己告诉他这个消息。

We had better set off early in case of the traffic jam.

我们最好早点儿出发,以防遇上堵车。

详解: ’d better是had better的缩略形式,常用于非正式场合, 后面接动词原形。变否定形式直接在’d better后加not。

例句: We’d better not take snacks and water into the museum.

我们最好不要把零食和水带进博物馆。

句型 6 I suggest (that)... 我建议……

例句: I suggest (that)we decorate this bedroom this weekend.

我建议我们这周末把卧室装饰一下。

I suggest (that)we meet at the car park.

我建议我们在停车场碰头。

详解: 这个句型用来提出建议。suggest后面所接的宾语从句形式为:(that)+主语 + (should)+ 动词原形。此句型可以把that和should省略,但要注意,即使把should省略,动词仍然用原形。

例句: The doctor suggested he do more exercises.

这位医生建议他多锻炼。

句型 7 Why don’t we / you ...? 我们/你/你们为什么不……?

例句: Why don’t you buy a second-hand computer instead?

详解: 这个句型用来提出建议,表面上是疑问和否定形式,但实际表达的是一种肯定的建议。

近义句型: How / What about ...? ……怎么样?
