Geological prediction

6.0.1　Geological prediction shall be carried out in the full course of the construction of the storage caverns.

6.0.2　During construction，a geological prediction plan shall be prepared according to the detailed geological investigation data and the design documents.

6.0.3　The geological investigations made at the ground surface shall include the following contents:

1　Investigating the geological conditions of the surrounding mountains and the water bodies that have impacts on the construction and operation of the storage cavern project；

2　In the rainy season，the surrounding mountains and the hydrogeological conditions shall be monitored.

6.0.4　During the entire process of the construction of the storage caverns，the geological analysis method shall be used for geological prediction.Geological sketching should be performed after each excavation operation.

6.0.5　When the tunneling approaches fault fracture zones，water-permeable structures or surface water，the seismic reflection method，infrared detection method，or advance horizontal drilling method etc.should be used for comprehensive geological prediction.

6.0.6　Prior to the excavation of the top heading of the storage cavern，advance drilling shall be carried out successively.In the same cross-section，at least two probe holes should be drilled.The lengths of the probe holes should be more than three times the cyclic excavation length.The overlapping length of two probe holes should not be shorter than one cyclic excavation length.

6.0.7　The geological prediction results shall be timely reported to relevant parties.When the construction scheme is changed，technical disclosure shall be made.
