Situation : At Baiyun Airport , an officer was asked to handle a situation in which a security inspector found a long knife in a passenger's carry-on luggage and decided to confiscate it , but the passenger refused and quarreled with him.
P: Good morning, sir. What's your name and nationality, please?
F : Good morning. My name is Ben Park and I'm from the U.S.
P: Mr. Park, could you show me your passport, please?
F : Here it is.
P: OK, thank you. Is this knife yours?
F : Yes, I bought it as a gift for my father who is crazy about collecting all kinds of knives.
P: This knife is too long and restricted in China, so it can't be carried along with you and it must be confiscated.
F : No, you can't do that. It's a gift for my father.
P: According to Article 32 of Public Security Administration Punishments Law of the People's Republic of China, Anyone who illicitly carries any gun, ammunition, crossbow, dagger or any other tool controlled by the state shall be detained for not more than 5 days, and maybe concurrently fined 500 yuan. If the case is not so serious, the person in question shall be given a warning or be fined not more than 200 yuan. Anyone who illicitly carries any gun, ammunition, crossbow, dagger or any other tool controlled by the state into a public place or vehicle shall be detained for more than 5 days but not less than 10 days, and maybe concurrently fined 500 yuan.

Situation : At Ruili border checkpoint , a passenger was found suspicious of drug trafficking when he had his suitcase checked by the machine , so the inspector called the police for help.
P: Good afternoon, Sir. Show me your passport, please.
F : OK. Here you are.
P: Is this your first time to China?
F : Yes.
P: What for?
F : I'm on a business trip.
P: All right. Come with me to the office over there.
F : Why?
P: I'm going to do a thorough check of your suitcase.
F : I don't think it's necessary since it's been checked by the machine. Furthermore, I'm in a hurry to catch a flight.
P: The machine shows there's something wrong with your suitcase, so I will check it by hand.
F : It's ridiculous. I only put some necessities for my trip and nothing else.
P: According to the law of China, I have to check the suspicious suitcase. Hope you can cooperate.
