F : Excuse me, sir. Could you tell me where the nearest post office is?

P: See the tall building over there? There is a post office just behind it. Go straight ahead. It's only a 10-minute walk.

F : Thank you.

P: Not at all.

|情景2| Showing the Way to Jinling Hotel 指去往金陵宾馆的路

F : Excuse me, I wonder if you can show me how to get to Jinling Hotel?

P: Sure. Just go along this road until you come to the next intersection. Turn left and walk about 300 meters. You will see a white building on your right side. Jinling Hotel is just opposite it and there is a big sign that says "Jinling Hotel".

F : Sounds pretty easy. Thank you.

P: You're welcome.

F : Excuse me, officer.

P: Can I help you?

F : Could you tell me how to get to Xidan shopping mall?

P: Sure. It's quite far from here. You'd better take a taxi or a bus.

F : Which bus should I take?

P: Bus Number 1.

F : Where can I take it?

P: There is a bus stop just across the street.

F : How long does it take to get to Xidan?

P: It's about a 30-minute ride.

F : Thank you.

P: Don't mention it.

|情景4| Asking the Way to a Souvenir Shop in a Foreign Country 在国外问去往旅游纪念品商店的路

Chinese: Excuse me. Could you tell me where I can buy some souvenirs?

Foreigner : You can do it right here in this hotel. See the counters beside the gate? You can buy some souvenirs there.

C: I've looked around there, but I didn't find what I like.

F : Why not go downtown?

C: But how can I get there?

F : Take the shuttle bus. It leaves for downtown every 2 hours.

C: When will the next one leave?

F : In ten minutes.

C: Where do I take the bus?

F : Just outside the gate.

C: How to get back?

F : Take the same shuttle bus. It returns from the same place as it arrives downtown. There is a return bus every 2 hours.

C: Thank you very much.

F : You're welcome.
