Just as a good conscience is discovered in the sobriety of night, so true feelings are perceived the moment a simple meal or a plain tea is served. That’s why we say that to make others willingly conduct self-examination is better than to simply instruct them how to behave themselves, and to let others own up to their faults is better than to censure the faulty for their wrong doings.
