③ 苦海:此处含倒胃口之意。
短栖山林是美事,但倘若迷上那儿不走了,山林也就成市井朝廷了。
赏鉴书画是兴味雅事,但倘若沉溺其中,雅事也就成商家的买卖了。
作诗饮酒是乐事,但倘若强劝而使人为之,乐事也就如同下地狱了。
好客是大方之举,但倘若稍有庸俗的人掺和进来,事情也就变味了。
Sojourning in the mountains is a joyful thing; but if one is too enchanted with it, the mountains will turn into marketplace or imperial court.
Collecting and appreciating the calligraphies and paintings of notables are matters of elegance; but if too crazy about so doing, one will look like a merchant.
Verse-composing and wine-drinking are pleasant things; but if done against the will of others, they will soon serve like a hell.
