❶Why is that?直译为“那是为什么?”,不过在真实的对话中,只要对方说话带有蹊跷,或是听起来像是话中有话时,就可以这样问,不一定是要听对方的原因。

❷competition可以指“竞争”这件事,或“竞争对手”,在上面的对话中,$5,000 more than the competition指在价钱上比竞争对手高出5,000美元。
