We sometimes say the lion is “the king of the forest” because it is stronger and more dangerous than other animals. It is at the top of the food chain on l 1 . In the sea, the shark is at the top of the food chain. It can swim faster than most other sea animals. It can also catch other sea animals and eat them.

What is at the top of the world’s food chain? Human! We are not the biggest or fastest, but we are the c 2 . We invented cars so that we can move the fastest. We invented guns to hunt the animals. We are very clever to invent things,b 3 we can be dangerous, too. For example,many years ago in Inner Mongolia （内蒙古）, people used guns to k 4 a lot of wild wolves which usually eat wild rabbits.
