I agree. I think the most important thing for parents is to raise independent children. When children are little and helpless, they count on their parents for everything, but one day, they’ll grow up and will have to go off to live on their own. If parents don’t teach their children essential skills that help them survive on their own at an early age, it’ll be too late when they become adults. When your children are used to having everything done for them, they won’t bother to learn to do stuff by themselves, and they will never be able to fly the nest. And that is why we have so many giant babies in their 30s who are still living with their parents, eating their parents out of house and home. That’s a shame.
