Is it a good idea for teachers to start competitions among students in the class？
1.有竞争就会有输赢，输家可能觉得此举并无意义。
2.赢家则会认为要胜出就必须打败别人，不懂得合作。
I think it’s harmful for teachers to start competitions in the classroom, because the thing about competitions is that there has to be winners and losers. For those who often lose, they won’t feel happy about the class, and they won’t see how the class benefits them. Even for the winners, this is not without harm, like, they would be led to believe that in order to win, or in order to succeed, they would have to beat other people, and they would see other people as obstacles on their path to success. But in today’s society, cooperation between individuals is more much promoted than is competition.
我认为老师在课堂上发起竞争是有害的，因为有竞争就会有赢家和输家。对于那些经常输的学生来说，他们不会在课堂上感到快乐，他们也不会认为自己会在课堂上受益。即便是对于赢家来说，竞争也不是完全无害的，比如说，这会引导他们认为，为了赢或者为了成功，他们必须打败别人。他们还会把他人视为成功路上的障碍。但是在当今社会，人与人之间的合作比竞争更受推崇。
