One of the mistakes is praising the kids for everything they do. It’s very common now to see kids who are almost junkies for praise. They won’t do anything unless there is a payoff for them. The problem is other people won’t see your kid as perfect, and they will give your kid negative feedback. Another common mistake, on the contrary, is using shame, shunning or threats on your kid, like implying that there is a chance you might not love your child due to their actions. As some parents do so in order to get their kids to obey. If you often do that because you think it works, eventually the child doesn’t care anymore.
