Teachers nowadays prefer to give students group assignments instead of individual assignments. Talk about the advantage and disadvantage.

The advantage is that students can work together as a team, communicate with each other, and learn to listen to each other’s ideas and thoughts, that helps develop their social skills and also fosters in them a sense of teamwork. The downside could be that there could be free riders in a group, students who never really show up to do the work, and some students may end up completing all the assigned work without the credit they deserve. That really hurts their enthusiasm for group assignment.
好处是学生们能以一个团队的形式一起工作、互相沟通、学习聆听彼此的想法，这能帮助发展他们的社交技能，也能培养他们的团队合作精神。弊端是，一个团队里可能会有一些“搭便车的人”，就是那些从来不出现干活的人，而一些学生可能最后干了所有的活，却没得到应有的认可。这会打击他们对团队作业的热情。
