All right，听完今天的对话之后，我们要来跟大家说一下“ 倾盆大雨 ”用英语怎么说。之前很多同学学到的表达是“It's raining cats and dogs.”。What do you think about that?
Y eah，when I'm teaching Chinese students，they'll often say，“Wow! It's raining cats and dogs outside.” And it really does sound like I was talking to my grandparents.
Usually young people do not say“raining cats and dogs” anymore. It sounds really old fashioned. What we do say is“ It's pouring. ”“pour”means“倒”“倒给你”，so it's almost like God is pouring water down on us.
I also just wanna add that for sure this is for north America，so Canada and the United States. Maybe in Britain they still use this expression. I'm not sure，but in north America，it's very old fashioned.
在北美地区，就是加拿大、美国，他们已经不说“It's raining cats and dogs.”了，他们觉得很过时。年轻人如果想表达 倾盆大雨 的意思，就说“ It's pouring. ”，就像上帝在倒水一样。
OK，so for today's bonus. If it's pouring rain outside，often we'll say，“Don't go outside. You're gonna get soaked !”
What does “soaked” mean?“Wet” means you have a little bit of water on you；“soaked” means totally covered in water. Your entire body is just covered in water，to be soaked.
OK，今天的bonus中，我们要学习的其实是两个词：如果你的 衣服湿了 ，你可以说“ we ”；但是如果你 湿透了 ，就叫“ soaked ”，get soaked。
