S o the explanation for this is quite simple. I guess in Chinese，you think it's “gold hair”. For us we don't think the color is quite gold. We think it's more blonde，so we say “blonde hair” . And if you have kind of blonde hair and kind of brown hair，we say dirty blonde .
在中文当中我们有一个表达叫“金发碧眼”，我们直接翻译“金发”就是“ 金色的头发 ”，叫“gold hair”，但是对于外国人来说，他们觉得这种颜色其实还没有那么“金”，他们把这种颜色叫作“blonde”，所以是“ blonde hair ”。
So for the bonus I'll teach you something interesting. Especially when talking about girls，you can say she is a blonde，or you can say she is a brunette. Of course blonde means she has light hair. Brunette means she has dark hair ，either black or brown.
